Earth Quakes -Here in New Zealand our hearts go out to the people of Kaikoura and surrounding areas that have been affected by the 7.5 magnitude Earthquake that shook their region on 14/11/16. New Zealand has a small population and we have friends & loved ones who live in those affected areas. Kiwis are a resilient people and we will all band together as a country to support them through this time. Kia Kaha

Our area and those that trails run though have thankfully, remained unaffected by this situation. The area is 4.5 hours away from our home base and 6 hours from Wanaka. For customers who are travelling down from the North Island, please check with AA road information as your route may have to be re directed to the inland routes. This may take a little longer than previously planned.

Our 2016/2017 season begins 4th December 2016 with a Twin Lakes Pack Trail. This is one of our most beautiful trails. Relaxing and picturesque the trail includes a unique trip on the Minaret barge across Lake Wanaka with the horses. Our Web site contains a number of customer videos for you’re to enjoy a sneak preview of the sites.

High Country Man -This season we are lucky to have secured Norman Sinclair as our driver on the trails. Norm is famous in the High Country for his art and music. http://www.normansinclair.co.nz/Home He has a deep love for the central Otago region having worked here for many years as a cook on musters, gaining unique access which is reflected in his beautiful paintings. His music and laughter fill the nights with joy.

New Beginnings -The last month has seen three foals born to our herd Lucky, Koru and Stranger. Foals live with both parents until they are weaned. We believe this is what makes our horse’s contented and quiet living in a family group as nature intended.

Home Base -In addition to our longer trails, this year we have a permanent trekking string based at Mount Studholme. Our wrangler Leana has been living and working in Australia for the last two years experiencing Auzi musters and farm life. She is looking forward to a busy season.

Glam Trekking - we have personalised trails available for those who want the 100% Kiwi experience with a little more comfort. Please give us a ring. If you are interested in horse trekking, for multi days to a few hours, please do not hesitate to contact us here on: (0064) 03 689 2838
