Happy Holidays 2022
Wake up Bro, Its Christmas Day!
That’s what I used to shout on Christmas morning when we were kids.
I have always been an early riser, what about you?
Mornings are such a beautiful time of the day, but even more special when Santa has visited.
When my kids were little, there were always footsteps in soot on the carpet and a chewed carrot or too that Rudolph left behind.
Now I see that magic reignited in our Granddaughter Millie’s eyes, with Clay and Evie following on closely behind her, I know that the beauty of Christmastime is still there.
Loving Life, Reflecting Reverence
It is always a time of reflection though don’t you think?
Firstly, for our loved ones past and sending aroha to them through the veils that separate us.
Then to loved ones far across the world, as Kiwis, we always have someone far away that we are missing. We are natural traveler’s’ and it is expected that our kids will do an “OE” (overseas experience) before they settle down.
My heart belongs to my loved ones, those who are blood and those who are not.
I never let a chance go by that I don’t tell those I love how much they mean to me. Life is so short, even if you live 100 years, a min can be such a long time when you are missing someone.
John and I have so many Woofer, HelpX kids who have stayed with us over the 10 years we have run Adventure Horse Trekking NZ. They become our family living with us each and every day, we even have woofing grandchildren now, in Switzerland, Germany and USA. It is such a beautiful thing to do, open up your home and your heart and try it for yourself.
Team Time
Our small adventure team work so hard to bring your dreams into reality.
Everything we do is for the love of horses and here humans and horses live in a large horse human herd. Like Gypsies we travel around the hidden trails threaded through the mountain peaks of the NZ South Island.
Now it is time to take a break and although it is a short break it is so welcome.
Spending time with our whanau of humans, horses, dogs, cats, chickens and even a goat named Gilbert who we miss so much whilst we are away from home.
Our heartfelt thanks to Eleanor, Head wrangler and Hannah wrangler, Mike and Hele our amazing Trail Taxi Team.
We maybe a small team but we have a mighty heart.
Incredible Customers
Our heartfelt thanks, to every single one of our incredible customers. For believing in our little adventure company.
We have treasured customers that return year after year to ride sometimes the same trails.
You have no idea how much we adore you all. As you saddle up to ride into sometimes challenging environments.
Each of you are our inspiration, you are why we do what we do.
Wishing you the most incredible happy holiday time filled with aroha.
